Zero polystyrene by 2025

An important goal for Caseificio Longo, respecting the environment

The present of Caseificio Longo, and consequently its future, pass from an increasingly concrete commitment to the environment.
A company born in the green of the Canavese area and surrounded by the beauty of the Alps, which wants to export the dairy excellence of Piedmont throughout Italy and abroad cannot ignore a short and medium-term eco-sustainability plan.
For this reason, the Tomini del Boscaiolo have been distributed for a few months in the new eco-friendly packaging, made up of recyclable materials and which reduce the consumption of plastic by 50%.
And the short supply chain, with milk 100% sourced from Piedmontese farms and local farmers, becomes - as well as a very high quality certification - a tangible sign of Longo's commitment to reduce polluting emissions from means of transport.
Without forgetting another very ambitious and important medium-term goal: to reduce the use of polystyrene to zero by 2025, both for all other packs and for the elements used in the various stages of the production line.
In fact, polystyrene is still widely used in many sectors, including the food sector. It cannot be differentiated and, unfortunately, it is often also dispersed in rivers, then pouring into the sea: it is not uncommon, even on our beaches, to notice the white pieces of disintegrating material.
The only remedy for this problem is the most radical, that is to eliminate the polystyrene, replacing it in its entirety with recyclable and reusable materials: it is one of the objectives of Caseificio Longo to guarantee, every day more, products that are good in taste and respectful of the environment. .
